Tom Mata

Player Bio:
Tom began playing guitar when he was 14 and started his first band, Firethorn Drive, at age 16. After a brief time away from the scene, Tom began playing in a band called Blissfield in 2010. Blissfield was best known for finishing 3rd in Lansing’s 2011 Hometown Rock Crown, blowing the crowd away with their pop/rock cover of Cee Lo Green’s ‘F**k You’. After Blissfield, Tom began a new project called Red Cedar Riot which shared the stage with national acts including Hawthorne Heights! Red Cedar Riot also played in the 2012 Hometown Rock Crown finishing 2nd with their crowd pleasing covers of Carly Rae Jepson’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ and Usher’s ‘Scream’.

Tom has been attending Open Jam at Rum Runners in Lansing since its inception, and has become such consistent contributor that he now Co-Hosts the weekly event! Bring you instruments or voice and come Jam with Tom and our other Entertainers during Open Jam!
